Daphne Portokaloglou (b. 1997, GR) is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Brussels Belgium. She has a Master’s in Film from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GR and is currently doing a Master’s in Visual Arts at the Royal Academy Of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Her personal practice is interdisciplinary. She uses photography, film, mixed media and installations centered around themes of memory, trauma, politics of the body and gender. Her work is rooted in intimacy, embracing vulnerability as a means to connect and create spaces for safe, radically honest relating.. The interconnectedness between personal and collective trauma, art and social research lie at the core of her practice.
